Are you gonna miss this event?: Pre-ECCMID ESGAP Course on Antimicrobial Stewardship.

  • Is antimicrobial stewardship part of your daily activities?
  • Do you feel the need to refurbish your institution’s antimicrobial stewardship program?
  • Are you getting involved in the set up of a fresh new antimicrobial stewardship program?

If any of these circumstances is true for you, then keep reading -> Just before (7-8th April) ECCMID, ESGAP organizes a comprehensive course entitled Antimicrobial Stewardship: a Practical and Integrated Approach. This is a new edition of a long-tradition course, perhaps one of the very first on this topic.

What to expect of this course (intended learning outcomes)?

  • Reflect the antibiotic stewardship initiatives being in place worldwide
  • Reflect the scientific background of antibiotic stewardship interventions
  • Learn the basic principles of antimicrobial resistance and consumption surveillance
  • Reflect the quality management aspects of antimicrobial stewardship
  • Learn the practical aspects of antimicrobial stewardship interventions
  • Learn the aspects of antibiotic stewardship in various settings: hospital (wards, surgery, ICU, haematology), primary care, general public, long-term care facilities
  • Learn about barriers to antimicrobial stewardship and how to address them, using behaviour change theories.

Apart from core lectures, program will be split in two tiers. One for least experienced learners. The other for more experienced one. Some interesting innovations these year will be the poster walk and the research projects session in which projects sent in advance by attendees will be discussed with top-of-the class researchers in this field. For further information, see course program (see here)

Looking forward to seeing you all in Amsterdam. Best
